ROOC Companion ("we", "the site") is a free, browser-based tool for planning Monster Research (MR) in Ragnarok Origin: Classic. This page explains what data is handled when you use it.
1. Data you enter stays on your device
The site has no accounts and no server database. Your MR progress, kill counts,
language and settings are saved only in your browser's localStorage,
on your own device. We never receive, transmit, or store this data. Clearing your
browser data (or using the "reset" option) erases it, and it does not sync between
devices unless you export/import it yourself.
2. Cookies & advertising
The site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent regarding personalized ads and cookies before such ads are shown.
3. Analytics and support
We use PostHog (data stored in the United States) to understand how the site is used, in its cookieless mode: it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Visitors are counted with a hash that PostHog computes on its servers and rotates daily, so a visit today cannot be linked to a visit tomorrow, and the IP address is discarded as soon as it arrives.
What is recorded:
- the pages you view, their language, and the country the visit comes from;
- clicks on the button that downloads the Companion Live app, and on the links to our Discord server;
- in the planner, whether a few features are used — linking the app, starting and saving a session, exporting or importing a backup — and errors in the planner's own code. Never your MR, your kill counts, your characters or your backup file, which stay in your browser as described in section 1.
No screen recordings, no record of what you click elsewhere, no advertising use. Every page has a "Report a problem" form: the text you write there, and the page it was sent from, go to the same service so we can read it. If you send a report, a code is kept in your browser so a reply can reach you here; it is deleted once the report is resolved and read. To talk to us, use our Discord server.
4. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Since we do not hold a database of users, most of your data is controlled directly by you through your browser. For advertising data handled by Google, use the opt-out links above. To have a report you sent deleted, contact us. For anything else, contact us.
5. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
