About ROOC Companion

ROOC Companion is a free planner for Monster Research in Ragnarok Origin: Classic, built on top of a database of the game's monsters, maps and cards. There is no account and no sign-up.

Why it exists

Monster Research is a long grind, and the game hands you a bestiary without handing you an answer. The part that trips people up is the line bonus: a completed line of five monsters pays out the lowest research level among the five — so raising the monster standing in front of you often moves nothing at all.

Working out which monster is actually holding a line back, and then which map kills it fastest, is arithmetic across 217 monsters and 59 maps. The planner does that arithmetic against your own progress. How Monster Research works →

Where the numbers come from

HP, elements, races and sizes are read out of the game client's own data tables. Which monsters live on which map comes from the game's own Location screen, captured by hand — the client does not carry spawn data at all, because spawning is the server's call. Either way it matches what the game shows, not what a wiki remembers.

The composition of the research lines is the exception: it is not in the client, and was collected screen by screen from the in-game Bestiary. That part is hand-checked, which is exactly why a correction from a reader is worth so much.

Which server this covers

The Global · Americas server. Asia runs on a separate client with its own patch schedule; what is written here does not necessarily hold there.

Your data

Your MR progress lives in your browser's storage, on your device. There is no account on our side and no copy on any server — excellent for privacy, and unforgiving if you clear your browser without exporting first. Privacy policy →
