Ragnarok Origin: Classic news & patch notes
Every update for the Global · Americas server, summarised in plain language and linked to the official post. When a change actually affects MR farming, we say so — most of them do not.
October 15 patch: Vigrid Avenge comes to Guild League, Juperos Ruins is rebuilt and Halloween hits the calendar
Guild League gets Vigrid Avenge, expected on 19/10 — the same map as the third stage of the Tyr Cup. Juperos Ruins comes back rebuilt with Normal and Speedrun modes, Dimension Drill opens a new season, the Guild Auction starts selling a new fragment that buys nine new purple cards, and Halloween fills the end of October.
Companion Live 1.5.0: exploration, with your position live on the map
The app reads your exploration progress in the 7 maps, and the site's exploration pages show where you are, live, while you collect.
Companion Live 1.4.0: card manager and personalized recommendations
The app reads your character's cards, and the site starts telling you, socket by socket, which of them to use against each monster and in each raid room.
MVP spawn timers in Companion Live — and on every MVP page here
Companion Live now keeps the spawn clock for all 21 field MVPs. The new part is on this site: open an MVP page with the app running and linked, and the countdown is right there, next to where the monster spawns — the same number, without switching windows.
The Raids section is live: the Nightmare Temple, floor by floor, with every boss's HP
Ten rooms of the Nightmare Temple, across both seasons, each with three floors and its own page. It answers what the floor pays, what the room does to you before the fight even starts, and how much health the boss actually has on that floor — a number we had to measure in the traffic, floor by floor.
Companion Live 1.2.0: MVP hunt and bug fixes
The MVP hunt now works with the app, a rare black screen is fixed, and Settings gained anonymous reports and a Report a problem button.
September 22 patch: Nightmare Temple Season 2 opens with the Maelstrom armament, plus dye and MVP mounts
Nightmare Temple enters Season 2, Mysterious Ocean, with five new bosses and the Maelstrom Divine Armament. The patch also brings class adjustments for ten jobs, a dye system for costumes, MVP mounts and new medal effects, and schedules Operation Refinement and Hollgrehenn's Redemption for the coming weeks.
ROOC Companion now has a Discord — and every page has a Report a problem button
There is now a place to talk about the site: a Discord server for questions, suggestions and bugs, and a Report a problem button on every page that sends straight to us. If you farm MR seriously and something is missing here, this is where to say it.
Companion Live is out: your Monster Research fills itself — and this is only the first step
A free Windows app that reads the game's own connection on your PC and fills your Monster Research from the kills you actually made, character by character. You type nothing. It is also the first step of something bigger: with live data, the site stops being a database and starts becoming a real companion.
The monster pages were rebuilt — and the map section is next
All 217 monster pages were rebuilt around the two questions they exist to answer: how much MR this kill pays at your level, and what to equip against it. The map section is being rebuilt next — and we finally got the damage formulas out of the client, which opens a door we are not promising a date for yet.
September 12 update: the Summoner's Purring healing was not taking effect
One line of Kafra mail, one fix: the Healing Done of the Summoner skill Purring was not taking effect, and now does.
September 11 hotfix: the Gunslinger unlock rule, and what the job pays on the way up
Kafra mail: the Gunslinger only unlocks on a server that has reached Lv.70, and the character needs Base Lv.25. Changing job pays at Base Lv.70, 80, 90 and 99, and helping someone else change pays more during the event.
The site is updated with Glast Heim: 30 monsters, 9 maps and 34 new cards
The site now runs on the new Global data (Americas). And why, on a big content update, that can take 1 to 3 days.
September 10 patch: Glast Heim opens today, and card drops go to 3x for 15 days
Glast Heim arrives as a new map with four MVPs, the Gunslinger job goes live and Lv.95 accessories open up. The line that changes your week is smaller and easy to miss: from September 13 to 28, card drops from normal monsters run at three times the rate.
Maintenance notice: server down September 10, 04:50–09:00 (UTC−4)
The server goes down on September 10. The Discord notice called the window estimated and gave 05:59–10:00; the patch note published afterwards gives 04:50–09:00, the same window as every maintenance before it. Glast Heim comes with this update.
The card section is live: 239 cards, and the price of every way to get one
Every card now has a page, and the list sorts by what it pays. The part worth the visit: each card shows the three ways to get it — kill, open, buy — side by side, with the cost of each.
Abyssal Raid is live, and it hands out MINI cards
MVP and MINI cards have no guaranteed drop: however much you kill, there is no point at which the card is finally yours. It is luck, and only luck. The upshot is that most players do not own a single MINI card — and inside a week they get three, two from the Raid quests and one from the Radiance Trial bar on Monday.
Radiance Trial: the two Guild League weekly quests only register after a relog
Two Radiance Trial weekly quests tied to the Guild League do not tick over on their own: you have to log out and back in before they count and the reward can be claimed. The team expects a fix on September 10.
August 31 hotfix (2.0.4.32): Aura Blade's 30% and a turret that would not die
Two bug fixes delivered as Kafra mail with no post on the official site: Aura Blade's 30% per attack now takes effect, and a turret that survived inside the Guild League respawn point does not any more.
The Glast Heim clues are the table of contents of a patch Asia already got — and it should land here on 17 September
Gunslinger, six Lv.95 accessories, four new MVPs, the Ymir Astrocore and the Draconic Cataclysm dungeon. Asia got all of it in a single patch on 9 July; we got Glast Heim and none of the rest. The 45 Spacetime Rift clues describe exactly the sections that were left out — and we can now say when they arrive: 17 September.
August 27 patch: the Glast Heim clue hunt begins, and it points at the Gunslinger
A month of build-up to Glast Heim, with a server-wide clue hunt — and the change that actually gives you time back: tickets that skip dailies.
Maintenance notice: server down August 27, 04:50–09:00 (UTC-4)
Kafra mail and Discord announced the maintenance window that will be used to apply the August 27 update. Login will be unavailable for the duration.
Four events live until September 7: what is worth your time
A 2048 clone, a consumable drop, a dice board and a paid costume rebate. Only one of them pays you for what you were already doing.
August 18 hotfix (2.0.4.26): Aura Blade reworked — announced in-game only
A silent hotfix that rewrote the Lord Knight's Aura Blade damage formula, delivered as Kafra mail with no post on the official site.
PC client crash fix (launcher 1.1.2_2) — this one needs a manual update
The occasional PC crashes were fixed, but unlike mobile this update does not install itself — you have to close everything and update through the JoyMaker launcher.
August 13 patch: Tyr Cup Global, new Dimension Drill season and Lord Knight changes
A large update built around the Tyr Cup Global tournament, plus a new Dimension Drill season, a reworked Guild Auction and a set of Lord Knight combat adjustments.
July 30 update: Operation Union, Cream Revelry and stricter Emperium Overrun entry
A lighter maintenance focused on three timed events, one guild requirement change and a batch of localization and scene fixes.
