August 31 hotfix (2.0.4.32): Aura Blade's 30% and a turret that would not die

Two bug fixes delivered as Kafra mail with no post on the official site: Aura Blade's 30% per attack now takes effect, and a turret that survived inside the Guild League respawn point does not any more.

Dear Adventurers,

A new version update is now available!

Please relog into the game to automatically update to the latest version.

Latest version: 2.0.4.32

[Bug Fixes]

- Fixed an issue where the Lord Knight Skill - Aura Blade's effect of increasing DMG by 30% with each attack did not take effect properly.

- Fixed an issue in the Guild League Sub-Battlefield Respawn Point where the Turret would not be destroyed after the Mastersmith Skill - A. A. S Turret was cast.

Ragnarok Origin Classic — Operations Team

Same pattern as two weeks ago: a change to a class's core damage arrives as in-game mail at four in the morning, with nothing on the official site. If you never open your Kafra mail, your Lord Knight changed and nobody told you.

Correction (September 1). This entry first said the client carried no 30% term for Aura Blade. That was wrong, and the mistake was ours. The skill's own tooltip does have the clause — it reads, after the defence-ignoring part, "and this attack's damage +N%" — and it was in the client all along. We missed it because the tooltip never writes the words "Aura Blade": searching the localisation for the skill's name returns seventeen strings, all of them buff descriptions or other skills, and not one of them is the tooltip. A name search could not have found it.

And the number is settled: the tooltip stores it as a parameter that scales with skill level, and the game always shows the skill at max level — which is where it reads 30%. So the mail and the client agree. What we still do not know is whether this clause touches the damage formula the August 18 hotfix rewrote; that calculation runs on the server and the client does not say.

The turret is easier to read, and the fix looks like an exploit being closed. The Sub-Battlefield respawn point is an invincible zone for allies — enemies who step in lose 40% of their HP every second, as our Guild League guide lays out. A turret that could be cast there and then refused to be destroyed was a gun sitting inside a place nobody could reach. That is our reading of what the fix implies, not something the notice says.
